About me
Where I've been, and where I'm headed.
I grew up in Houston. I graduated magna cum laude from San Diego State University and got my MD from Texas Christian University, graduating with honors.
I'm now a fourth-year orthopaedic surgery resident at Orlando Health Jewett Orthopaedic Institute, a Level I trauma center. Most of my research is in orthopaedic trauma — fractures around implants, femoral neck fractures in young adults, and how implants behave in bone.
Next is an orthopaedic trauma fellowship, then practice as a trauma surgeon. I'm open on geography.
Outside the hospital I play guitar, train in mixed martial arts and boxing, surf, ski and snowboard, and speak conversational Spanish.

Research
Publications, presentations and work in progress.
Most of it is orthopaedic trauma — fractures around implants, femoral neck fractures in young adults, and how implants actually behave in bone. Some of it is sports knee surgery from a mentorship that started in medical school.
Fractures around implants
Periprosthetic and interprosthetic femur fractures: modular plating systems, nail–plate combinations for Vancouver C and interprosthetic patterns, extremely proximal periprosthetic fractures, and a systematic review of modern fixation strategies.
The young femoral neck fracture
Multicenter work with the Young Femoral Neck Fracture Working Group on neck–shaft combinations, gait after repair, and whether acute total hip arthroplasty beats fixation for the displaced fracture in a young adult.
Implants and biomechanics
Lag-screw slide across cephalomedullary nail designs, interlocking-screw stability in retrograde nails, high-strength suture cerclage in femur and fibula fixation, and headless compression screws at the medial malleolus.
